CCTT participated in the International rail business forum "1520 Strategic partnership»
CCTT participated in the International rail business forum "1520 Strategic partnership: Central Europe", which took place from 20 to 22 February 2018 in Vienna.
The event was attended by more than 400 delegates from 29 countries, including senior officials of relevant ministries and agencies, railway, transport and logistics companies, representatives of international organizations, banking institutions, business and IT companies.
Participants of the business forum discussed a large list of issues related to rail freight. This is the current state of affairs in the industry, the existing problems and prospects for development, and ways to increase international cooperation. It was particularly noted that due to the significant increase in the volume of container cargo traffic between the Asia-Pacific countries and the EU in recent years, the need to increase the pace of international cooperation and the development of infrastructure issues has greatly increased.
During the event, the CCTT Secretary General Gennady Bessonov acted as moderator of the session "Interoperability 1520 and 1435. How to erase the border." During the discussion, a large list of issues determining the conditions for increasing the volume and efficiency of rail transport (tariff setting, electronic declaration of goods, simplification of customs procedures, etc.) was touched upon. The need to accelerate the unification of technical standards 1520 and 1435, as well as the harmonization of international transport law was noted.
On the sidelines of the forum there was also a meeting of the CCTT Working group on IT-development (CCTT IT WG).
