During a formal ceremony which was held in the Aprin Railway Station near Tehran, the capital city of Iran, on 21 July 2024, the container block train of Iran-China resumed its movement from Iran (Qom City) to China (Yiwu City) after the stopping of the running of these trains between the two countries since the outbreak of the Corona Virus. President of Iranian Railways (RAI), Deputy Ambassador of China in Tehran, Charge d'affaires of Turkmenistan embassy in Tehran, officials form Foreign Ministry of Iran, officials of customs of Iran, managers from Iranian Railways and the media attended in this ceremony. This train carries 50x40’ containers of materials from Iran to China. It is said that relaunching the train will increase the trade between Iran and China, the old civilization of the world, and will reduce the transport time of cargoes between the two countries.

Transport ministers from 15 European Union Member States adopted a joint position paper1 to call for the EU Commission to launch an initiative in favour of rail freight operators and to promote modal shift towards clean transport at the informal Council of EU Transport Ministers yesterday.

On the 26th of March 2021, the Port of Narvik, Nurminen Logistics Oy and RZD (October territorial centre of corporate transport service) took a Zoom meeting to discuss a possible correction of rail tariff for Reefer containers from Helsinki via the Trans-Siberian route to Vladivostok and onwards to Japan, China and South Korea.

St. Gallen, February 3, 2021. InterRail Kazakhstan LLP, an Almaty-based subsidiary of InterRail Holding AG, Switzerland, has converted its former sales office in Nur-Sultan into an operational branch as of the end of January 2021.

In addition to a direct container train between Mukran and Rotterdam, weekly short sea services to Scandinavia (Karlshamn) and Lithuania (Klapeida) now complement the Baltic Sea Port’s service portfolio. The new short sea services will run once a week in both directions. In addition, Mukran is adding the ElbePort Wittenberge to its network of German hinterland hubs.
