CCTT Secretary General Gennady Bessonov took part in the official meeting of the heads of international organizations registered in Bern (the Universal Postal Union, the Interstate Organization for International Carriage by Rail and the International Organization for Migration, the International Committee for Railway Transport, the International Coordinating Council for Trans-Eurasian Transportation), which took place on December 3 this year on behalf of the Governing Council of the Canton of Bern in the Swiss capital, Bern.
The annual meeting held by the Canton of Bern and brings together not only representatives of the international organizations of the city of Bern, but also representatives of various ministries of Switzerland (the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Swiss Ministry of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications, the Swiss Ministry of Justice and the Swiss Police).
The Mayor of Bern, Alec von Graffenried, officially introduced the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT)* and highlighted the particular economic as well as political importance of international organizations that contribute to the development of railway transport and freight transport in Switzerland.
*The Coordinating Council on Trans-Siberian Transportation (CCTT) was renamed into the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT) on 15 October 2019 and changed its legal address of registration from St. Gallen to Bern.
