CCTT project Security Train: pilot tests of ESI

In tests carried out in the framework of the signed agreement of 2019 between the state enterprise "Belarusian railway", JSC "RZD" FSE "Departmental security of railway transport of the Russian Federation JSC UTLC ERA, JSC Eurosib SPb – transport systems and manufacturers of ESI – participants of the project CCTT "Security train". It was used the intellectual sealing systems of ODO "Belneftegaz" (Belarus), JSC STRAZH and Transtelematica LLC (Russia). The purpose of the pilot tests is to work out the technology of using ESI from different manufacturers on the same container train, monitor the progress of containers with cargo on the way, evaluate the efficiency of electronic seals and software, and when the ESI is alarming on the way, provide a prompt response by the departmental security forces of the Belarusian Railway and the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Departmental Security of Railway Transport of the Russian Federation".

The widespread use of digital technologies in the escort (protection) of transported goods in container trains in international traffic on a permanent basis throughout the route will significantly reduce the risks of stealing from containers, and reliably ensure the safety of goods en route. The project "Security Train" is aimed to increase the competitiveness of railway, multimodal and intermodal container services, which, of course, will help to attract additional cargo volumes, increase the share of rail transport in cargo transportation in Euro-Asian traffic. The pilot tests are a step towards the formation of a complete offer for cargo owners and carriers of services for the safe delivery of goods. The first train using the "Security Train" technology with electronic seals left the Brest-Severny station on January 28.
