International Online Business Forum "Development of Eurasian Multimodal Transportation in the new economic paradigm"
The International Online Business Forum "Development of Eurasian Multimodal Transportation in the new economic paradigm", organized by the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT) in cooperation with Beijing North Star Events Group and Chengdu Municipal Port and Logistics Office, was held on July 15, 2020.
The business forum was attended by heads and authorized representatives of railways, transport and logistics and shipping companies, seaports, container terminals, government departments (ministries, postal and customs services), security companies, industrial companies and international organizations (the Universal Postal Union, UNESCAP, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the International Committee on Railway Transport, OSJD, UIC) – in total, more than 200 participants from 29 countries.
The event was moderated by the General Secretary of the CCTT Mr. Gennady Bessonov. Emil Kaikiev, Member of the Board (Minister) for Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Laszlo Moshici, State Secretary for Transport Policy of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology of Hungary, delivered welcoming speeches.
Transport products, opportunities and advantages of railway and multimodal container services were presented to the forum participants. Presentations were made by Chengdu International Railway Port Investment & Development (Group) Co., Ltd, Sinotrans Ltd., JSC UTLC ERA, TG FESCO, Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co.,Ltd., PJSC TransContainer, Lanzhou International Land Port Development Co. Ltd., Shandong Hi-Speed Qilu Eurasia Railway Logistcis Co.,Ltd, JSC KTZ Express, Shenzhen Neptune.
China Post and Lithuania Post delivered presentations on the practice of transporting mail in container trains.
The forum participants noted that the joint conferences of the CCTT, Beijing Northstar Events Group and Chengdu Municipal Port and Logistics Office have become a significant platform for discussing the opportunities and prospects for realizing the transit potential of the Eurasian continent and finding mutually beneficial solutions, attracting an additional cargo base for transportation from Europe to China.
For reference: On November 15, 2019, within the framework of the International Transport Exhibition in Chengdu "China International Supply Chain and Smart Logistics Expo", a cooperation agreement was signed between the CCTT, Beijing Northstar Events Group and Chengdu Municipal Port and Logistics Office, and the first joint conference on the development of multimodal and rail cargo transportation in the China – Europe – China connection was held.
