Meeting of the CCTT Working Group on the Development of Information Technologies (WG CCTT RIT)
On August 12, a meeting of the CCTT Working Group on the Development of Information Technologies (WG CCTT RIT) was held via videoconference under the chairmanship of the Deputy Head of the WG CCTT RIT, Deputy Head of the Informatization Department of RZD OJSC Yakovleva Inessa Vladimirovna.
During the meeting of the Working Group it were discussed the topical issues of the use of digital technologies on railway transport . The meeting was attended by representatives of railways, operators and freight forwarders, representatives of transport and logistics companies and IT experts from 12 countries, more than 80 people in total.
The participants of the meeting considered the issues of the implementation of the CCTT "Electronic Train" project, the purpose of which is to introduce a legally significant electronic document flow. The project supposes the work on the integration of the automated system of the "end-to-end international container train schedule", the using of blockchain technology to track cargo along the entire route, the introducing of technology to ensure the development of information interaction "road-port" and "port-road" and electronic seals.
The participants of the meeting were presented with the results of the implementation of the CCTT project "Integrational Digital Platform", within the framework of which work is being carried out to expand the capabilities of the electronic trading platform of RZD OJSC "Cargo transportation". The initiative project presented by UTLC ERA JSC on the creation of an open and neutral blockchain platform for transit transportation is promising for the CCTT. The goals of creating a decentralized system are the development of a single information source of reliable data for transit transport participants, automation of contractual relationships, simplification of claim work based on legally significant information from a single information space, ensuring data security and confidentiality.
The participants of the meeting were also informed about the results of a pilot test that was conducted within the framework of the CCTT "Security Train" project from January 28 to February 8, 2021 on the route Brest-Severny – Kartaly – I and in the opposite direction on the regular service of UTLC ERA JSC. It was noted that the use of electronic identification tools, in addition to ensuring the safety of the transported goods, can offer a new customer service for tracking the location of the cargo.
Proposals and recommendations of the participants of the working group on improving IT solutions for the organization of international cargo transportation will be included in the Plan of the CCTT Working Group on the Development of Information Technologies for 2022.
