On July 22, 2021, in CCTT Secretariat took place a meeting with the General Director of the KORAIL Representative Office in Moscow Mr. Seo Byeong Seob

During the meeting, it was discussed the issues of cooperation between CCTT and KORAIL on the development of cargo transportation from/to the Republic of Korea via the Trans-Siberian route. It was noted that the development of trade partnership between the CIS countries, Central and Central Asia and the Republic of Korea, the connection of the Trans-Siberian and Trans-Korean railway lines are important for maintaining the existing cargo flow and increasing the volume of container cargo transportation through the Far Eastern ports of Russia.

Reference: The Korean National Railway Corporation (KORAIL) has been a member of the CCTT since 1997. Issues related to cargo transportation via the Trans-Siberian Railway from/to the Republic of Korea are among the priority issues for CCTT. The implementation of the decisions taken within the framework of the 14th CCTT Plenary Meeting made it possible to ensure a positive dynamics in the volume of cargo transportation from/to the Republic of Korea via the Trans-Siberian route. In March 2006 within the framework of CCTT, a demonstration trip of Korean cargo owners and shippers via the Trans-Siberian Railway was organized, and the International Cargo Conference of the CCTT was held in Vladivostok "The Trans-Siberian Railway in the XXI century: prospects for the development of cooperation in the field of railway transportation" went down in history: it was at CCTT platform for the first time the representatives of the Ministries of Transport and Railways of Russia, The Republic of Korea and the DPRK discussed the issues of connecting the Trans-Korean and Trans-Siberian routes and signed a Declaration on the further development of international cargo transportation between the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and Europe and the expansion of the freight transportation geography via the Transsiberian route.
