Session of CCTT Working Group on Improving Competitiveness of Container Transportation via Naushki, Grodekovo and Nakhodka-Vostochnaya

Session of the CCTT Working Group (CCTT WG) on the development of multimodal transportation devoted to the issues of improving the competitiveness of container transportation via Naushki, Grodekovo and Nakhodka-Vostochnaya took place on June 18, 2020 via videoconference under the chairmanship of Alexander Isurin, Head of CCTT WG for the development of multimodal transportation, President of TransContainer PJSC.

The conference was attended by heads and authorized representatives of railways, seaports and major transport and logistics companies of Russia, Switzerland, Germany, China (CRCT), Japan (TSIOAJ), and the Republic of Korea (KORAIL).

During the Session of CCTT WG, it was considered a complex but actual range of issues related to the development of international container transportation through the border crossings of Naushki, Grodekovo, and far Eastern ports. As a priority, it was noted the need to attract a new cargo base, expand the geography of transport routes, as well as create new multimodal container services for the delivery of goods from the Asia-Pacific countries.

During this period, serious efforts are needed to cope with increasing volumes, maintain the trust of old customers and expand the new customer base, so that in the post-crisis recovery, it is possible to keep on the railways those cargo flows that have switched from sea and air routes. At the end of the meeting, the proposed measures to improve the competitiveness of cargo transportation will be taken.

The CCTT platform allows to unite different participants in the transportation process with the same goal – engagement of cargo to railway and multi-modal Eurasian routes.
