UNCITRAL Webinar "International experience of dematerialization of negotiable transport documents"

On April 13-14, 2021, the UNCITRAL Webinar "International Experience in Dematerialization of Negotiable Transport Documents" was held via ZOOM videoconference.

The event was attended by representatives of the UNCITRAL Member States, representatives of international organizations, research institutes, transport and logistics companies, as well as invited consultants and experts. CCTT Deputy Secretary General and Chief International Development Officer participated in the webinar from the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation.

A wide range of issues, including the use of electronic transferable records and dematerialization of trade documents, the dematerialization of negotiable transport documents, regulatory and sectoral responses to dematerialization of trade documents, a review of UNCITRAL standards and local experiences, was discussed at the webinar. In addition, the webinar participants were presented with the results of research conducted by such reputable organizations and institutions as the Singapore Chamber of the Attorney General, Beijing University Maritime Law Research Center, BHP Ltd., Commerzbank, Bank of China, IATA, CIT, IRU, Schellenberg Wittmer, Bolero, essDoCS.
