Kazakhstan traditionally occupies a special position in the center of the Eurasian continent, playing the role of a transit bridge between Asia and Europe. Today, air, rail and road routes pass through the territory of Kazakhstan, contributing to the development of transit freight traffic in China-Europe-China. The annual growth of Eurasian transit railway transportation is provided by the development of industrial centers in the west of China, sending their products by rail through the territory of the CIS countries with further access to the "Trans-Siberian Railway", where Kazakhstan is the main window for Chinese goods.
On 31 July, the CCTT Secretariat hosted a meeting between the President of TOYO TRANS Isao Takahashi and the CCTT Secretary General Gennady Bessonov. Within the framework of the meeting it were discussed the issues related to the development of long-term cooperation and partnership between Russia and Japan in the Far East, as well as tariffs for cargo transportation via the Transsiberian route.
On 16 July 2019, the CCTT Secretariat hosted a meeting of the CCTT Working Group on the Harmonization of International Transport Law (CCTT WG) chaired by Renne Lyudmila Alekseevna (Head of the CCTT WG, Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Projects and International Cooperation of JSC "Russian Railways").
