CCTT Took Part in UPU Rail Forum Session Held on September 25-26, 2024 in Chongqing (PRC)
Regular meeting of the UPU Rail Forum was held at the invitation of the China Post in Chongqing on September 25-26, 2024.
Within the framework of the Forum, issues of interaction between national postal companies and postal carriers by land transport were discussed. In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, CCTT outlined approaches to improving the efficiency of international mail transportation by rail in China - Europe – China connection. The issue of switching to paperless document flow in order to improve the convenience and quality of transportation services, as well as compliance of transportation documents with the requirements of customs and other regulatory authorities of the member states of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), was specifically discussed.
In followup of the Forum, agreements were reached on continuing cooperation with the UPU to increase the attractiveness of the transportation of international mail by rail, the use of innovative approaches to organising the exchange of documents and the introduction of high environmental standards in the transportation processes.

The UPU Rail Forum was organised in 2018 by the Universal Postal Union on the initiative of China Post with the support of international organisations: WTO, OTIF, CIT, CCTT, OSJD - in order to discuss the organisation of transportation of international mail by rail.
