On 14 May 2025, the "Professional Personnel for Logistics and International Transport Projects" International Conference was held in Moscow at the CCTT Secretariat.

The event was attended by representatives of government authorities, the scientific community, transport and logistics companies and international organisations from the CIS countries, Europe and Asia (more than 100 people from 10 countries).

Mr. K.A. Pashkov, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, in his welcoming speech noted that "the process of training personnel for the transport industry is the basis for the personnel and innovative development of the transport system of the Russian Federation - one of the basic sectors of the state economy. That is why, in order to achieve the goals and implement the tasks set by the President and the Government the Russian Federation for the transport complex, within the framework of the national project "Effective Transport System," the federal project "Development of the personnel potential of the transport industry" is being implemented, which aims at becoming a reliable support for the training of future transport workers.”

It was the fourth conference continuing the practice of annual events jointly organised by CCTT, RUT (MIIT) and the Association of Transport Universities and dedicated to the development of human resources in the transport and logistics industries. This year, the Institute of International Trade and Sustainable Development of MGIMO of the Russian Foreign Ministry joined the conference as a co-organiser.

"The transition to a new model of education poses a number of tasks for us - for example, the development, together with leading transport companies, of a new classifier in the field of education - "Transport,"” - emphasized Mr. A.A. Klimov, Rector, Russian University of Transport (RUT/MIIT), President of the Association of Transport Universities. – “Under the leadership of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, today there is a discussion of a new list of specialties that meets up-to-date challenges. It is necessary to supplement the existing list of specialties with new areas, including logistics. Now this area of training does not exist.”

The importance of cooperation between universities from different countries to develop joint educational programs for the implementation of international transport projects was highlighted. Currently, the Russian University of Transport alone is implementing 25 joint educational programs with foreign partners: for example, joint Russian-Chinese programs, in which 150 students are studying today. In accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the Russian-African Transport University was established in 2024. This initiative was supported by 28 universities from 10 countries. Its focus includes logistics projects.

In their speeches, Mr. V.Yu. Salamatov, Director, Institute of International Trade and Sustainable Development, MGIMO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Mr. Miroslav Antonovich, Chairman, OSJD Committee, Mr. Cui Jiaguo, Secretary General, China Association of International Freight Forwarders (CIFA), noted the important role of the CCTT as a platform for exchanging experience in improving competencies and developing international education programs.

During the discussion of the training of new generation specialists for international logistics, the heads of the Beijing Transport University, Jilin Railway Professional Technical University, Russian-African Network University, Center for Interdisciplinary Research NRU "Higher School of Economics," Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Education "Volga State University of Railways," Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education of the Kherson State Maritime Academy, FSBEI HE "Siberian University of Water Transport," Siberian State University of Railways, Institute of International Transport Communications RUT (MIIT), FSBEI HE Ural State University of Railways, FAR, OTLC ERA JSC, OTEKO JSC, TG FESCO, NOYTECH Supply Chain Solutions, AXELOT, etc shared the practice of cooperation between transport and logistics companies with universities and colleges.

The conference speakers shared their approaches and best practices to solving issues in the field of training personnel in transport logistics and solving certain issues facing the transport system.

"Forming a new transport system for decades ahead, we must now think about how to ensure the training of specialists with the necessary specialised skills and knowledge who will develop the industry of tomorrow, solve the strategic tasks set, - In conclusion, Mr. M.Yu. Goncharov, CCTT Secretary General, noted. - Taking into account the importance and relevance of these issues, CCTT launches an information and educational program "Logist - Profession of the Future" with the participation of partners from foreign countries implementing large international transport projects and developing the most important Euro-Asian transport links. Within the framework of this program, CCTT is ready to assume the mission of a coordinating center of professional competencies and initiatives, conducting research and analytical work." 

Within the framework of the conference, the Memoranda of Cooperation were also signed between CCTT and the Higher School of Economics, MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Association of Forwarding and Logistics Organisations of Russia.
