Meeting of CCTT Working Group ITC North-South

On May 27, 2021, a meeting of CCTT Working Group ITC North-South was held via videoconference under the chairmanship of the Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC I. A. Guseinov.

The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of transport and logistics companies from Russia and Europe, representatives of international organizations, experts of the transport industry. More than 70 people in total.

The main issues for discussion were the current situation on the North-South ITC: routes, volumes, constraints and measures taken by railways and transport and logistics companies to provide regular container services for cargo transportation.

The participants noted the great potential of the corridor and the need to strengthen international cooperation (coordination) in the development of transportation via the North-South transport corridor, as well as the development of a clear, well-established mechanism for each participant of this transport corridor to ensure uninterrupted delivery and increase the volume of container cargo transportation.

Reference: The CCTT Working Group ITC North-South was established on the results of the 28th CCTT Plenary Meeting. The main goals of the group are developing and increasing the competitiveness of the International Transport Corridor North-South by attracting additional cargo volumes and optimizing the route.
