The CCTT participated in the UNESCAP online conference "Virtual Expert Group Meeting on Legal Frameworks for Multimodal Transport Operations in Asia and the Pacific", which was held on 30-31 March.
The conference was attended by representatives of international and transport organizations of the ITC UNECE, CIT, UNCTAD, UNCITRAL, OECD, which are engaged in the development of a legal documentation basis governing the process of cargo transportation.
The key issues to be discussed during the discussions were the harmonization of the regulatory framework governing intermodal and mixed transport operations in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the strengthening of transport connectivity between Asia and Europe.
Within the framework of the conference, the presentation "IT solutions: problems and challenges" was made by Gennady Bessonov, CCTT Secretary General. In his report, he noted the need to develop information technologies to facilitate and speed up the procedures for passing interstate borders by exchanging data with the customs authorities of the states participating in the logistics chain. Taking into account the growing role of digital technologies in transport, there is a need to form a single information space for Euro-Asian transport. Within the framework of the CCTT project "Integrational Digital Platform" is being hold a work aimed to creation of a single digital ecosystem that will ensure effective interaction of all participants within the transport market.
