The CCTT took part in the round table “Volga-Caspian Integration Development Space”

The CCTT took part in the round table “Volga-Caspian Integration Development Space”, which was held on March 30, 2021 at the platform of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
The round table was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Interregional public Organization "Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs". The event was held with the participation of the Association "Afanasy Nikitin", the Association of Exporters and Importers, the Eurasian Association of Business and Humanitarian Cooperation "Eurasian House".
In the framework of the business program it were discussed the issues of economic integration of the Volga-Caspian region, issues of food security, as well as environmental and climate risks of the region. Separate blocks covered the development of the Volga-Caspian logistics, road and agricultural infrastructure, discussed the topics of financial and economic modeling of the region and the creation of a digital ecosystem of the Volga-Caspian subjects.
Within the framework of the round table, the presentation "Transport infrastructure of the ITC North-South, as a condition for the development of the Volga-Caspian region" was made by Gennady Bessonov, CCTT Secretary General. In his speech, he noted the rapid decline in the dynamics of container traffic through the territory of Russia via the North-South Transport Corridor and the need to attract new cargo flows to increase the volume of container transit along the corridor routes. Among the key measures aimed at increasing the indicators and volumes of cargo transportation, it was noted, first of all, the need to develop and modernize the infrastructure of the countries participating in the ITC North-South, as well as optimize logistics and create a competitive tariff network along the entire route.
